The Vision for Our New Library
What we envision for the new library incorporates a much broader view on how we can serve our community and that vision and goal is to become a community hub.
Imagine a library where people of all ages can come not only to check out a book, but possibly spend some quiet time for themselves or with their child in a cozy nook reading, or having the opportunity to enroll in an elective or continuing education class, maybe being part of a fun club, and having a place to develop programs or classes where you can learn a new skill or share your skill or knowledge with others. The possibilities are exciting!
This is not going to happen overnight, nor without physical and financial support. With this in mind, we are in the beginning stages of creating a Friends of the Library and Foundation. We have need for a few more board members, so if you have a desire to actively help your community and have any experience in the following; accounting, grant writing, fundraising, in the legal realm or just enjoy promoting and supporting your library, come join us.
We are looking at what not only is needed now, but in the future. Our hope would be that everyone who enters our library would have an enriching, beneficial experience that will continue throughout the years, decades and even generations.
If you would like to be a part of this, you can leave your name and phone number with Geri at the library by calling 837-6520 or email hagermanpubliclibrary@gmail.com. The date, time and location of the meetings will be posted at the library and the post office.
