Barbara Ruth Johnson, 76, passed away peacefully on April 3, 2016 at her home in Hagerman, Idaho.
A Memorial Service, with a luncheon immediately following, will be held at 11 am on Saturday, April 16, 2016, at Hagerman Valley Baptist Church, 307 N. State Street in Hagerman.
Barbara was born on January 10, 1940, in Hailey, Idaho, to Stanley and Estella Johnson. She was raised in Hailey and graduated from Hailey High School in 1958.
Barb lived a full life in the Wood River Valley. In 1982, she moved to Hagerman, to be close to her Mom. Her life became even fuller and she found her TRUE CALLING, which was loving and helping people.
Whether through her career as a care giver and house cleaner, or in her personal relationships, she gave sacrificially of herself, putting others first. In everything she did, her desire was to make other people’s lives better. Without fail, her clients became her friends.
No matter where Barbara went, people saw the same things in her: her strength, her positive outlook, her sense of humor, her smile, and her gift of loving God and others. She was determined to always see things through to the end and never give up. Her heart overflowed with love for her family and friends. Her faith in God was her strength and refuge and she lived that out every day of her life.
Barb, also enjoyed traveling all over the world to see her kids, family, and friends; outdoor activities like camping, hunting, fishing, mountain lakes; gardening, especially her flower beds; taking care of her lawn on her riding lawn mower; her sewing circle; going out for coffee and lunch with her friends; serving in her church; geocaching; and baking cookies and cakes for people.
Barbara is survived by her brother, Stanley Johnson, Jr (Dorla) – Pinehurst, ID; daughter, Joni Villalobos (Omar) – Lutz, FL, and their children, Sonya and Evin; son, Deano Miller (Shelley) – Bellevue, ID, and their son, Cooper; daughter, Cindy Wauchope (Robby) – Boise, ID, and their children, Hannah, Sam, Zac, Josh, and Benjamin; granddaughters Lacy Goeckner – Phoenix; Brandi Hill (Duke) – Phoenix, and their children Urijah, Marquez, and Savior; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Stan and Estella Johnson; sister, Betty Johnson; brother, Clifford Johnson; and son, Sam Miller.
For all of us who were blessed to be loved by her, there is a huge void in our hearts and in our lives. Anyone who met her was impacted by her generous and loving spirit. She fought the good fight. She finished her race. She kept the faith. Well done, good and faithful servant.
